Au revoir, 1&1

I've been happily hosting websites and getting domains registered through 1&1 for the past four years.

However, recently, the quality of support and the technical service they provide has, in my opinion anyway, slipped so dramatically that anyone who wants or needs even the slightest bit of flexibility within their web hosting plans has to look elsewhere.

I've spent the past month trying to set up a new IP address for our name servers and there's been a list longer than a long armed man's arm as to why they can't do it.

Long story short, no nameservers no websites, and since London Kettlebells is an online retail site, that really is a kick in the nuts.

Couple that with an outsourced* technical support staff from the far side of Mars then it was really time to move.

So off I go, one domain at a time to the so far spot on Kualo.

* And for anyone who thinks I am down on outsourcing; I'm not. I believe that outsourcing is one of the best things a business can do if executed properly. As an example, we outsource our logistics and admin. However, outsourcing just as a cost saving exercise with no benefit to the customer is just cheap, especially when people who run businesses really want reliable, and most importantly, will pay for it as well.
